Virgin's third reponse to virginfuels.org publisher

Excerpts from Gaia Capitalist email to Virgin Mark James:  "As I've said, I'm a 55-year old single woman simply trying to survive.  In Spokane, Washington, wages for women my age (even with years of experience and a college education) are about $10 an hour, with no benefits like health care or pensions.  I'm basically going down the toilet working a full-time job while still trying to do my service work.  As I get older, I am terrified that I if get hurt or sick, I'll lose my job and I'll end up homeless on the street. (Of course, my daughters would never allow it but still....) In the United States, we don't take care of our own like you do in the UK.

I tell you all this because I still maintain hope that you can find a way to include me in this important work.  It is almost impossible to support the kind of news site I have developed with banner ads and page sponsors and I don't want to do a commercial site dependent on Google ads and such to survive.  Again, I haven't received any compensation for my work.

I simply ask that you or Virgin Unite consider sponsoring a bioenergy news site under another domain name so that I can continue getting the word out.  Or, give me the chance to work for you (I'm a very hard worker).  I'm sure we can find a resolution that benefits everyone.

Thank you for listening to me, Darlene

Mark James reponse received December 21, 2006 (four days before Christmas).

Darlene,

In response to your email below:

- Just because a domain name is available does not mean that registration and/or use of it will not infringe someone else's rights;

- We cannot be expected to register every permutation of every possible domain name and should be entitled to rely on our trade mark rights instead;

- Virgin Fuels is in the process of setting up its own website;

- You registered this name after Virgin Fuels was launched and made its first investment;

- Your site has its own value and any value attributable to the name is due to our rights and your reliance on them;

- You could have, and should have launched, this site under another name;

- I have offered to reimburse your official registration costs ($25) and asking for sponsorship or paid work for transfer of this name is wholly disproportionate in the circumstances;

- I can't speak on behalf of Virgin Fuels, or Virgin Unite, but I think it is unlikely they would want to sponsor your site or give you paid work in any case;

Regards,

Mark James
