Gaia Capitalism as a Social Model - The Gaia Entrepreneur

Gaia Capitalism serves as the ideal social model as well as a generalized business philosophy.

If one truly believes that Life streams from One Source, then it follows that all components of that life have intrinsic and inherent value to the Whole.  The Whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In the traditional, particularly American, form of capitalism, the worker is assigned value depending on a myriad of factors.  On the worker's side, decisions as to employment are also dependent on factors such as pay, benefits and job satisfaction. But, probably the top priority to any worker is how that job affects his or her family and lifestyle.

In the United States today - poverty is rising, more children are going hungry and small, independent companies are going out of business.  Bankruptcy is increasing at an alarming rate, primarily due to the the burden of health care costs.  It is becoming clear that we need to change our priorities and work together or else we'll all go down together.

Take, for example, the situation of a wife and mother in the traditional model. She stays home to care for the children and run the household so that the wage-earner can go to work.  Does she have value in the capitalist formula?  What is her value in the open market when this woman gets older, divorced, the children grow up and leave home. Basically, she's out of a job of some 18 years.  These questions have been debated for years with only partial resolution since women still earn about 75 cents to every dollar a man earns.

My definition of Gaia Capitalism is " an economic and social model that acknowledges, respects and benefits all components of the Whole".  Gaia Capitalists encourage initiative, partnerships and group work with the understanding that everything is dedicated to doing good work and world service and with the expectation that everyone involved can benefit.

The traditional Capitalist is one who can happily fire loyal, dedicated and enthusiastic employees on Christmas Eve to make more money for the owner/stock holders.  The Gaia Capitalist is one who invites the Gaia Employee or the Gaia Entrepreneur in to share together the wealth and joy of the holidays.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone, everywhere.

May the Children of the World see PEACE in 2007.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.  dcb
